Groomsmen
When
should we be looking for tuxedos?
With so much to do more and more brides and grooms are
crossing things off the list earlier. While It is not
uncommon to have styles selected 6 to 8 months prior to the
wedding, Black Tie Formalwear can accommodate your wedding
party whether it is next week, or next year.
Back
Do I
have to go to a large formalwear chain to accommodate my out
of town gentlemen in my wedding party?
Absolutely not! The truth is that half
of all wedding parties have gentlemen from out of town.
Black Tie Formalwear has a very simple process of
accommodating your wedding party. All they have to do
is stop by their nearest formalwear provider or tailor and
have their measurements taken. As part of the
International Formalwear Association, this is a very common
courtesy in our industry and is usually free of charge.
Once they have their measurements they can send them to the
Black Tie Location of their choice via our
website,
phone,
fax, or
mail
them in.

When
should I have my groomsmen fitted?
The sooner they get
this out of the way the sooner you have one less thing to
worry about. We normally recommend that you set a
deadline of two months before the wedding with the exception
of children who have the tendency to grow in spurts.
Hold of on them until three to four weeks prior to the
wedding. We can easily accommodate last minute
measurement submissions if necessary.
Back
Is there
a second fitting involved?
Yes. Two days
prior to the wedding the gentlemen will have their final
fitting. At this point, any last minute alterations
may be performed on the spot.
Back
Do all
my groomsmen have to be fitted and pickup at the store they
registered at?
Once you register with
a Black Tie Formalwear location your groomsmen may go to any
our locations. All they have to know is the bride or
groom's last name and the wedding date. Our
stores have the ability to look-up the location that you
registered at. We will then call that store and
confirm styles and pricing for accuracy. Your
groomsmen may get fitted and pickup at any location.
It is assumed that the location your groomsmen get fitted at
is where they would also like to pickup at. If you
would like to get fitted at one location, and pick up at
another, please notify your formalwear specialist at the
time of fitting.
Back
Do I have make an
appointment for fittings?
If it is an
individual fitting or a small group, no appointment is
required. If it is a group fitting of 5 or more,
please call ahead so that we may have adequate staff
available to make the fitting process as efficient as
possible. You may want to avoid Thursdays and Fridays
as those are
designated as pickup days for other wedding parties. However, if those
days are best for you and your groomsmen, just let us know
ahead of time and we will accommodate you!
Back
When should the tuxedos be returned?
Your tuxedos are due back by
closing on the following business day after the event.
Back
Do you provide wedding invitations?
Absolutely! Every Black
Tie Formalwear location has a large selection of invitations at your disposal from all the most popular
invitation companies!
Back
Do you offer any discounts on
invitations?
Yes! We offer 50% off
your wedding invitations! This includes only the four
main parts, invitations, reception, response, and informal
thank you's.
Back
How early should I order my invitations?
We suggest that you order
your invitations between six to eight months before the date
of your wedding. This will leave ample time for
assembly, addressing, and the option of ordering additional
pieces. (We have invitation specialists in every store to
insure that your invitations turn out as perfect as you
imagined!).

How do I decide what color shirt to
choose for my wedding party?
Shirt colors are based off
the bride's wedding dress. In the event that the bride
chooses a cream or ivory dress, you will may want your groom
and groomsmen to wear ivory shirts. White shirts are
available to all wedding parties. If you're looking
for a unique style for your wedding party be sure to check
out our Black, Black with White Stripe, and White with Black
Stripe luxurious microfiber shirts! At Black Tie
Formalwear you have choices, and the choice is yours!
Back
What
color vest should the groom and the groomsmen be wearing?
Colors of the vests
depends a lot on what color the bridesmaid's dresses are.
Usually you will want to match the same color with the
groomsmen. The groom will want to wear a color that is
different than the rest of the groomsman such as an white,
platinum, or an ivory vest (depending on the shirt color
selected). The Ringbearers will generally match
the groom or the groomsmen. The fathers will want to
stand apart from the wedding party,
(remember, they are the ones that made this all possible!)
you can choose a neutral color such as black or silver.
Back
Are
studs and cufflinks provided for my wedding party?
Yes! We will
provide your entire wedding party with the appropriate
men's jewelry to make them look their best on your wedding day!

You definitely will not want to wear any type
